Overview
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the hospital’s purchasing activities, ensuring timely availability of medical and non-medical supplies, and maintaining cost control without compromising quality.
The role supports all departments by securing reliable vendors and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end to end procurement processes including requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery follow up
- Source and evaluate suppliers for medical equipment, consumables, and general supplies
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors
- Maintain and update supplier database and approved vendor list
- Ensure all purchases comply with hospital policies and Qatar regulations
- Monitor stock levels in coordination with stores to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Review invoices and coordinate with finance for accurate payment processing
- Support tendering processes and large scale procurement projects
- Maintain proper documentation and audit ready records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in healthcare, preferably in general hospital
- Good understanding of medical supplies and equipment procurement
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of Qatar market and local suppliers is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
