- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in functional foods and health/wellness segments
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones
- Create and manage an international sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Foster a collaborative and results driven team culture
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Maintain sales forecasts for its product category
- Support marketing efforts, including attending trade fairs
- Participate in innovation projects and support new product development on dry ingredients
- Ensure good communication between sales, customer service and supply chain team
Requirements
- University degree in a related field
- Minimum experience in a similar role, preferably within the dairy industry; preferred experience with lactose, whey protein, milk protein, whey permeate as well as value added ingredients
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in a US / global market
- Results oriented leader with a proven track record of guiding teams to exceed objectives
- Strong understanding of Canada, US and international market dynamics and business practices
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Organizational skills and resourcefulness
- Mandatory travel (25% 50%)
- Good knowledge of Word and Excel
