Overview

We have an exciting opportunity of Regional business development manager for our packaging client based in Dubai, UAE.

Role Overview

Drive market entry and revenue growth in Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman) by identifying, acquiring, and managing key clients in FMCG, pharma, food & beverage, e-commerce, and industrial segments.

Own regional P&L, build partnerships with local distributors/converters, and position as preferred packaging partner for MNC and regional corporates.

1. Business Development & Client Acquisition

  • Conduct needs assessments, RFQs, technical presentations (carton specs, sustainability, cost models)
  • Qualify leads via market research, trade shows (Pack Middle East, Arab Print Expo)

2. Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Map packaging requirements across FMCG/pharma/F&B/e-commerce sectors
  • Benchmark vs. local players (TCPL, Interplast, Astron, ZamZam Packaging, IPP)
  • Position quality, automation, sustainability USPs (ISO/FSSC/eco-cartons)

3. Partnership Development

  • Build relationships with local converters, trade houses, distributors (stocking, sub-contracting)
  • Establish joint ventures/agencies if needed for regulatory/logistics
  • Coordinate with company for capacity allocation, pricing, delivery

4 P&L & Revenue Growth

  • Manage pricing, margins, payment terms
  • Monitor delivery SLAs, customer satisfaction, address churn

5. Technical & Sales Support

  • Conduct on-site assessments, recommend carton grades/designs
  • Prepare RFQ responses, costing, manage technical queries
  • Support customer audits

6. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monthly pipeline reports (prospects, win/loss analysis)
  • Quarterly market trends, competitor moves, regulatory changes
  • Attend trade shows, industry forums

7. Networking & Brand Building

  • Represent company at industry events, chambers (IBCC, ENEC, ADCCI)
  • Build thought leadership via case studies, whitepapers on sustainable packaging

Key Requirements

  • 12–15 yrs packaging/FMCG sales/BD in Middle East or India (UAE exp. preferred)
  • B.Com/MBA preferred
  • Fluent English, Arabic advantage (Emirati clients)
  • Proven track record of Business Development in similar Field.
  • Deep knowledge of corrugated/folding cartons, food packaging regulations
