Railway Maintenance Expert

Our client is a leading independent technical services organization in Qatar providing testing, inspection, certification, and assurance solutions across multiple industries.

It supports clients in sectors such as transport and rail, infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and performance assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support railway safety monitoring activities, including audits, inspections, site assessments, and technical reviews across metro and LRT systems.
  • Evaluate maintenance strategies, asset management practices, and system performance (including RAM) to ensure effective control of safety risks.
  • Provide technical input to safety processes such as Management of Change (MoC), SMS audits, and assessment of incidents, nonconformities, and asset performance trends.
  • Contribute to governance, reporting, and cross-functional risk management through preparation of technical findings and participation in review boards, investigations, and risk meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience in railway maintenance on major rail projects.
  • Extensive experience within metro, tram, light rail, or urban rail environments.
  • Strong expertise in safety-critical systems, including signalling/CBTC, rolling stock, track, power, telecoms, SCADA, stations, depot equipment, and integrated railway systems.
  • Proven track record in maintenance audits, asset management, RAMS, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and technical safety assurance.

Preferences

  • Prior Middle East or GCC experience.
  • Experience with ISO 55001 asset management principles, EN 50126 lifecycle safety, hazard management, safety cases, and Management of Change.
  • Experience in outsourced O&M environments and operator/maintainer performance monitoring.
  • Experience interfacing with regulators, asset owners, operators, maintainers, and independent assessors.
