- Manage R&D teams, researchers, engineers, scientists, and technical specialists to achieve project objectives
- Identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and opportunities for innovation and product improvement
- Oversee product development, prototype creation, testing processes, and technical evaluations
- Establish R&D processes, methodologies, documentation standards, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, marketing, and business teams to commercialize innovative solutions
- Manage R&D budgets, resources, timelines, and project priorities
- Protect intellectual property, research documentation, and technical knowledge assets
- Monitor research outcomes, technical performance, and innovation impact
- Prepare technical reports, research findings, business cases, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Technology, Product Development, or related technical field preferred
- Master's degree or PhD in relevant technical discipline advantageous
- 7+ years of experience in research and development, engineering, product innovation, technology development, or related roles
- 3+ years of experience managing R&D teams, technical programs, or innovation projects preferred
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, product development processes, prototyping, testing, and technical evaluation
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and complex development initiatives
- Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic planning, and project management skills
- Knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, and innovation trends
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
