R&D Engineer 4, Software

The R&D Engineer 4 (IC4) in the Common UI team is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, building, and sustaining Keysight’s shared UI frameworks used across instrument, desktop, and cloud software. The role has end‑to‑end ownership of subsystem design, feature delivery, code quality, and partner enablement, with a strong emphasis on Alloy (Angular‑based UI framework) , UX consistency, and secure software practices.

This role directly impacts 50+ products and multiple business units by preventing UI fragmentation and enabling consistent, scalable user experiences across Keysight.

Design, develop, and evolve Common UI frameworks (primarily Alloy) used across Keysight software platforms

Act as technical owner for framework features, architecture decisions, and long‑term maintainability

Drive Angular upgrades , adoption of modern UI patterns, and alignment to Keysight UX standards (Caranu+)

Partner with internal product teams to deliver reusable UI capabilities and unblock adoption

Reduce technical debt , improve framework performance, reliability, and developer experience

Ensure secure software development (SSDF) compliance for all shared UI components

Contribute to scaling Common UI development in India by increasing local ownership and responsiveness

Mentor engineers and serve as a technical reference for Common UI best practices

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

5–8+ years of professional software development experience

Strong hands‑on experience with modern UI frameworks (Angular strongly preferred)

Proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript ; working knowledge of C#, C++, or Python is a plus

Strong foundations in software design, modular architecture, and API‑driven development

Experience working on shared frameworks or platforms consumed by multiple teams

Ability to operate independently, make technical decisions, and influence without authority

Work on UI frameworks used by industry‑leading electronic measurement products

Design software that impacts millions of end users globally

Collaborate with world‑class engineers across instruments, cloud, and AI teams

Build scalable UI platforms—not one‑off applications

Senior UI / Frontend / Full‑Stack engineer who enjoys platform work
