Quantity Surveyor (Main Contractor Experienced)

  • NOTE: Please apply only if you can handle the following duties independently without any guidance.
  • Main Contractor experienced Quantity Surveyor who recently has independently handled minimum of one building project (full project start to end) in UAE.
  • Budget Preparation: Develop detailed budgets for awarded projects, ensuring all budgets receive line manager approval before implementation.
  • Quantity Take-Off: Accurately perform quantity take-offs (including reinforcement bars) for awarded projects to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Experienced in BOQ preparation & analysis (should have working knowledge of various standard methods of measurement).
  • Experienced in PS and PC items, reconciliations, adjustments.
  • Experienced in Payments, Variations, Final Accounts Settlements, Contracts Close-out.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractors’ bids (budget & scope), prepare bid comparisons for award.
  • Payment Management: Prepare and submit monthly progress payments and track payments accordingly.
  • Subcontractor Payments: Certify subcontractors’ payments, including progressive payments, final payments.
  • Variation Submission: Prepare and submit variations to clients and subcontractors, ensuring all supporting documentation is included and submitted within designated time frames.
  • Material Management: Track and manage materials and preliminaries to ensure project needs are met efficiently.
  • Monthly Subcontractor Reporting: Produce monthly subcontractor reports that include a clear breakdown of prime costs, as well as domestic and provisional sums.
  • EAC and CTC Reporting: Generate monthly reports on the Project’s Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Cost to Complete (CTC) to provide financial transparency.
  • Productivity Analysis: Evaluate productivity against approved productivity norms and identify areas for improvement.
  • Scope Management & Value Engineering: Engage in scope management practices and value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes.
  • Case Study Preparation: Develop case studies for execution works as directed by the line manager to enhance project learning and documentation.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits related to project execution to ensure adherence to project plans and address any on-site issues.
  • Timely Reporting: Submit all required reports to the line manager in the first week of each month to ensure timely updates.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management to support operational needs.
  • Cost Code Creation Requests: Prepare requests for the creation of approved project cost codes, in coordination with the line manager.
  • Liaison with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, internal departments.
