Responsibilities
- Manage and control project expenditures on behalf of the contracting entity, ensuring all payments comply with contractual reimbursement principles
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost management strategies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and contractual terms
- Monitor and forecast anticipated final project costs, reviewing and approving cost forecasts to ensure financial certainty and budget adherence
- Oversee the management of variations, amendments, and variances, including monthly cashflow forecasting
- Review and approve monthly post contract valuations, cost reports, variation orders, and final accounts for individual work packages
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, providing clear and transparent communication to project stakeholders regarding financial performance
- Support the project team in responding to contractor claims and disputes, providing specialist advice on contractual and financial implications
- Conduct thorough reviews of schedules of rates and bills of quantities prepared by cost consultants
- Collaborate with the supply chain, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to foster effective relationships and ensure optimum value for money
- Utilize digital measurement, cost planning, and tender document tools to streamline cost management processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Master's degree (MSc) in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or a related field
- Professional qualification and registration with a recognized statutory body such as RICS or equivalent
- Proven experience in cost control, cost management, and financial analysis within construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong proficiency with digital measurement tools, cost planning software, and tender document management systems
- Demonstrated expertise in post contract valuations, variation management, and cashflow forecasting
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, contractual principles, and bills of quantities
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers while maintaining cost efficiency
- Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies in project cost management
- Familiarity with UAE construction industry standards and practices is preferred

- We are seeking a detail oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
- In this role, you will be responsible for managing project costs, controlling expenditures, and ensuring financial certainty throughout the project lifecycle.

- Conduct thorough reviews of schedules of rates and bills of quantities prepared by cost consultants, offering recommendations to support pre tender estimates and budgets.
- Collaborate with the supply chain, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to foster effective relationships and ensure optimum value for money in procurement and project delivery.
- Utilize digital measurement, cost planning, and tender document tools to streamline cost management processes and enhance accuracy.
- Escalate cost control matters and non conformances to project leadership as appropriate, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Provide specialist expertise and advice on financial implications of identified and potential project risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Master's degree (MSc) in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or a related field.
- Professional qualification and registration with a recognized statutory body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent professional organization.
- Proven experience in cost control, cost management, and financial analysis within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency with digital measurement tools, cost planning software, and tender document management systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in post contract valuations, variation management, and cashflow forecasting.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, contractual principles, and bills of quantities.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and comprehensive cost reports.
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Problem solving abilities and decisiveness in addressing cost control challenges.
