- Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturer or industry specifications
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, laser tracker, portable measuring arms using Pc dmis and Polyworks software
- Work with Quality Engineers and Quality Manager to determine best practices to control quality on the manufacturing/assembly floor
- Inspect welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation and conformance with drawing specification
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration
Requirements
- Enrolled in post secondary school in QA/QC or related discipline at the College level or relative experience
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments
- Good arithmetic skills
- General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

The Position
- The Quality Technician co op will assist with inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
What You’ll Be Doing Technical
- Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturer or industry specifications.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, laser tracker, portable measuring arms by using Pc dmis and Polyworks software.
- Work with Quality Engineers and Quality Manager to determine best practices to control quality on the manufacturing/assembly floor.
- Inspect welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation and conformance with drawing specification.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
- Engage in proactive measures, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement programs.
- Work with members of the supply chain to ensure the quality of raw materials, components or sub assemblies.
- Drive 'Zero Defect' mentality within the organization.
- Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database.
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

What We’re Looking For Education
- Enrolled in post secondary school in QA/QC or related discipline at the College level or relative experience.
What We’re Looking For Experience
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
- Good arithmetic skills are required.
- Mechanical aptitude desired.
- General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
