The Position

  • The Quality Technician co op will assist with inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products.
  • Incumbent will work with production management to provide feedback regarding accuracy of procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing Technical

  • Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, laser tracker, portable measuring arms using Pc dmis and Polyworks software.
  • Work with Quality Engineers and Quality Manager to determine best practices for quality control.
  • Inspect welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation and conformance with drawing specification.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
  • Engage in proactive measures such as continuous improvement programs.
  • Work with supply chain to ensure quality of raw materials, components or sub assemblies.
  • Drive 'Zero Defect' mentality.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment.

Project Execution

  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance priorities and work under short timelines.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met.
  • Notify appropriate departments if milestones are not met.
  • Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy.
  • Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of Eclipse corporate Vision.
  • Ensure all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards.
  • Foster development of a culture reflective of core values.

What We’re Looking For Education

  • Enrolled in post secondary school in QA/QC or related discipline at the College level or relative experience.

Experience

  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
  • Good arithmetic skills are required.
  • Mechanical aptitude desired.
  • General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
