Quality Manager - Bridges

Overview

Quality Leadership and IMS

• Lead implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System for road and highway projects.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, contractual specifications, employer requirements, and relevant authority standards.
• Act as the Quality Management Representative for site operations.

Site Quality Management

• Oversee QA/QC for earthworks, subgrade, embankments, asphalt, flexible and rigid pavements, drainage, utilities, and road corridors.
• Oversee quality for road furniture, signage, and traffic management systems.
• Ensure Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, and Work Procedures are approved and implemented.
• Monitor material approvals, laboratory testing, and site inspections against authority and project requirements.

Audits and Improvement

• Plan and conduct internal and vendor audits and support external, client, and authority audits.
• Lead non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Track quality KPIs, trends, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Act as the primary quality contact for clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide quality consultancy and advisory services on road project quality systems and compliance.

Training and Capability Building

• Deliver training and mentoring on quality standards, procedures, road construction practices, RCA, FMEA, and Six Sigma concepts.
• Promote a proactive quality culture across project teams and contractors.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years of quality management experience within bridge projects.
• Experience managing site-based quality operations on large-scale road or transportation projects.
• Strong consultancy and client-facing experience, preferably in engineering consultancy environments.
• Experience with UAE or regional road authority standards is advantageous.

Technical and Professional Skills

• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, integrated management systems, ISO standards, construction quality practices, and road construction methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in RCA, FMEA, audits, and continuous improvement techniques.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
