Job Summary
The Quality Inspector – E&I is responsible for conducting inspections and quality control activities for Electrical and Instrumentation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable standards.
The role supports both Civil and Oil & Gas projects by verifying workmanship quality, monitoring inspections and testing, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting closure of non-conformances to achieve compliant and high-quality project delivery.
Review & Inspection Planning
- Review approved E&I drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs to understand inspection and testing requirements.
- Plan and coordinate daily E&I inspection activities with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Verify work readiness prior to inspection to ensure compliance and avoid rework.

Electrical Inspection & Testing
- Inspect electrical installation works including cable laying, cable pulling, termination, glanding, earthing, lighting, panels (MDB, SMDB, MCC), and electrical equipment installation.
- Verify compliance of electrical works with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Witness and record electrical testing activities such as continuity, insulation resistance, earth resistance, and functional testing as applicable.
Instrumentation Inspection & Testing
- Inspect instrumentation installation works including transmitters, control valves, tubing, impulse lines, junction boxes, cable trays, and instrument supports.
- Verify instrument installation, tagging, mounting, and orientation in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Witness and record instrumentation testing activities such as calibration checks, loop checks, continuity tests, and functional tests under supervision.

Inspection Requests & Joint Inspections
- Prepare, submit, and follow up Work Inspection Requests (WIR/RFI) and Material Inspection Requests (MIR).
- Participate in joint inspections with Clients, Consultants, and Third-Party Inspectors.
- Track inspection outcomes, comments, and required corrective actions.

Reporting & Quality Documentation
- Prepare daily E&I quality inspection reports and maintain inspection checklists.
- Maintain inspection, testing, and approval records in line with project and contract requirements.
- Ensure quality records are accurate, complete, and properly filed for audits and handover.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify and report non-conforming E&I works or materials in accordance with company quality procedures.
- Assist in raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions to closure.
- Verify corrective works through re-inspection prior to continuation of works

Coordination & Site Support
- Coordinate with site engineers, QA/QC teams, subcontractors, and testing agencies on inspection and testing activities.
- Support the Quality Engineer during audits, client inspections, and quality meetings.
- Assist in commissioning support and handover activities by ensuring E&I quality records are completed and approved.

Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in E&I quality inspection within Civil and/or Oil & Gas construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation and testing practices
- Familiarity with ITPs, WIRs, MIRs, NCRs, and quality documentation
- Ability to read and interpret E&I drawings, layouts, cable schedules, and loop diagrams
- Basic knowledge of relevant international standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, ISA, ISO, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in site and field environments
