About the Role
SGS is hiring a Civil Quality Control Inspector for EPC/construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves inspecting civil activities, verifying compliance with specifications, and coordinating with QA/QC teams.

Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection of civil and structural activities such as excavation, formwork, rebar placement, concrete, finishing, and backfilling
- Verify that all materials and workmanship comply with approved project specifications, standards, and ITP
- Review and verify civil work procedures, method statements, and checklists before execution
- Ensure that approved drawings and latest revisions are being used on site
- Witness and document all quality control tests (e.g., slump test, cube test, compaction test)
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action records
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO) and client specifications
- Participate in internal and external audits and assist in closing audit findings
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality requirements are met
- Support continuous improvement of quality systems and site processes
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Civil QCI in EPC or construction projects (preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors)
- Familiar with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and method statements
- Knowledge of international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO)
- Understanding of EPC project lifecycle
