- Manage end to end purchasing activities, including reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing and issuing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies
- Source and evaluate suppliers, request and compare quotations, negotiate contract terms, and monitor delivery timelines and quality
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, and use analytical skills to optimize costs and support climate conscious procurement choices
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including supplier sourcing and procurement best practices
- Skills in handling purchase requisitions and preparing purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Experience in contract negotiation, including pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors
- Analytical skills to evaluate quotations, track spending, and identify cost saving and sustainability opportunities
- Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations within nonprofit or corporate environments
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple requests in a part time schedule
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Familiarity with basic procurement software or ERP systems and proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Interest in climate governance, sustainability, or ESG related topics
- Relevant diploma or degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field

Role Description
- The Purchasing Officer is a part time, hybrid role based in Dubai, with a mix of on site work and some work from home flexibility.
- The role is responsible for managing end to end purchasing activities, including reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing and issuing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Day to day tasks include sourcing and evaluating suppliers, requesting and comparing quotations, negotiating contract terms, and monitoring delivery timelines and quality.
- The Purchasing Officer will maintain accurate purchasing records, coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, and use analytical skills to optimize costs and support climate conscious procurement choices aligned with Chapter Zero UAE’s mission.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including supplier sourcing and procurement best practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in handling purchase requisitions and preparing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Candidates should possess experience in contract negotiation, including pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to evaluate quotations, track spending, and identify cost saving and sustainability opportunities.
- Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations within nonprofit or corporate environments is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple requests in a part time schedule are required.
