Overview
The Project Manager Intern provides the functional support necessary to coordinate complex advisory engagements across the Gulf region.
This role exists to ensure that the facts surrounding a commercial call are organized, verified, and ready for senior advisors to interpret.
You will help bridge the gap between raw market data and the strategic choices our clients make.
About Gulf Associates
Gulf Associates is a management consultancy built around the commercial decisions that move enterprises forward.
We advise boards, family groups, and international investors on the choices that define their regional success, from market entry and complex partnerships to long-term governance transitions.
Our approach is direct.
We focus on the commercial call itself rather than producing expansive reports.
This means reading how counterparties and regulators actually behave and understanding the sequence of events over the coming years.
Because we maintain a small book of active engagements, our senior team stays involved in the work from first contact through to the commercial outcome.
Every position at the firm is fully remote, allowing us to bring together specialists who understand different sectors and regional dynamics without being tied to a single physical hub.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain project maps that track the progress of market entry initiatives and governance changes.
- Research specific regional counterparties to understand their history, current incentives, and previous commercial patterns.
- Draft internal briefing notes that strip away corporate fluff to present the core facts of a situation.
- Monitor regional news and regulatory announcements in the Gulf to identify shifts that might impact our active client files.
- Coordinate the administrative timeline of engagements, ensuring that advisors have the necessary data before key sessions.
- Update internal databases with regional economic figures and sovereign wealth activity.
What You Bring
- The ability to write clearly and concisely without relying on buzzwords or vague sentences.
- A methodical approach to research that prioritizes primary sources and verified data over speculation.
- A genuine interest in how regional economics and family-led enterprises function in the Middle East.
- Strong attention to detail, specifically regarding the accuracy of names, dates, and financial figures in briefings.
- The discipline to manage your own schedule within a remote environment while meeting internal deadlines.
- A professional mindset that understands the importance of discretion when handling sensitive commercial information.
What The Role Offers
In this position, you will see how high-stakes advice is formulated and delivered.
You will be exposed to the logic behind major commercial calls and gain a practical understanding of how regional expansion is executed by large enterprises.
This is a permanent, full-time role that operates entirely remotely, providing a high degree of autonomy.
While the work is designed for those at the start of their career, the information you manage is vital to the success of the firm.
You will work directly with advisors who value clear reasoning and direct feedback.
This provides a unique opportunity to build specialized knowledge of the Gulf market and the governing structures that move sovereign capital.
How Decisions Get Made
Our culture is one of direct reasoning.
At Gulf Associates, we do not value the quantity of content but the quality of the commercial call.
Decisions are made by identifying the most likely sequence of events and testing our assumptions against how people and regulators in the region behave.
We expect everyone, including interns, to contribute to this by providing grounded facts.
We do not hide behind complexity.
If a suggestion cannot be explained in plain English, it is likely not ready for a client.
We encourage our team to be skeptical of trends and to focus on what creates tangible outcomes for an enterprise.
Working At Gulf Associates
We maintain a professional and quiet work culture.
Because we handle sensitive governance and investment transitions, discretion is our baseline.
Communication is purposeful and focused on the work at hand.
We do not have unnecessary meetings or internal bureaucracy.
Instead, we rely on the self-discipline of each team member to stay organized and deliver their part of the project.
This is an environment for someone who prefers a serious, focused pace over the noise of a traditional agency.
We value people who take pride in the accuracy of their work and who understand that even small details can influence the direction of a major commercial engagement.
By staying small and specialized, we ensure that every hire has a direct view of the firm's progress and the impact of our collective advice.
