Role Overview
The Production Supervisor leads a team within a production unit to transform parts and raw materials into ABB products.
The role ensures timely, cost-effective, continuous, and efficient production in accordance with schedules, procedures, drawings, quality, and safety requirements.
The position reports to the Production Manager and supports ABB India's Smart Power Electrification business in the Production Operations function.
Work Model and Location
- The work model is onsite.
- The role is based at the Bangalore Nelamangala location.
Accountabilities
- Organize and allocate resources to meet monthly production targets and demand plans.
- Coordinate with planning and buyer teams to ensure material availability.
- Identify technical equipment and facility improvements.
- Meet customer PPM targets and prevent line stoppages through preventive actions and process improvements.
- Review KPIs for assigned product lines and maintain safety compliance and 6S standards.
- Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect team members.
- Ensure production teams are organized, staffed, skilled, and aligned with HR policies.
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing role focused on planning and operational improvement.
- A full-time diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
- Experience with production planning and scheduling against demand and volume requirements.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement, process optimization, and productivity initiatives.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, line balancing, and 5S concepts.
- Ability to plan and manage men, machines, materials, and methods for production operations.
- Willingness to work rotational A, B, and C shifts.
