Role Overview
The role is a Product Quality Engineer focused on solar photovoltaic products.
The position oversees quality assurance, reliability testing, and manufacturing standards for modules, cells, wafers, and key bill-of-material components.
The role includes supplier and original equipment manufacturer technical relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the end-to-end solar module assembly line, including automated stringing, matrix lay-up, lamination, and framing.
- Supervise and interpret electroluminescence, Dark/Light IV, Flash, and Hi-Pot isolation testing.
- Lead investigations into factory rejections and customer field failures using structured problem-solving methods.
- Ensure manufactured hardware complies with international and regional PV certifications.
- Use statistical tools to detect deviations from design tolerances and support continuous improvement.
- Manage technical relationships with component suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a solar PV cell or module manufacturing facility, or with tier-1 solar suppliers.
