The position manages verification of lower-complexity products and projects, assists with high-complexity projects, and supports new product qualification.
Product and Manufacturing Engineering
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to develop or enhance products.
- Optimize product designs for manufacturability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify process improvements and design modifications that streamline production and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Provide expert advice during urgent issues involving high defect rates and process yields.
- Understand the manufacturing chain and the implications of process changes.
Technical Leadership and Delivery
- Work independently in a technical lead role and review technologies that may benefit current and upcoming projects.
- Participate in design and implementation of Technology Services projects.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable tasks and align solutions with Technology Services strategy.
- Design enterprise-level solutions with medium-level guidance.
- Analyze root causes, define best practices, escalate technical issues, and communicate business risks.
- Mentor regional and site resources on processes and techniques.
Manufacturing Operations and Support
- Coordinate line reconfigurations and machine moves, including equipment arrival, positioning, installation, and support-group scheduling.
- Support quoting through initial process design, development, and implementation.
- Serve as liaison with suppliers or customers on quality issues and prepare testing and procedure recommendations.
- Determine test conditions, sequences, and phases of test operations.
- Track and communicate process changes and product or process upgrades.
- Support audits and customer visits at the site.
Knowledge Requirements
- Knowledge of Jabil operating policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience of supply chain and engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in the required process.
- Understanding of DFM/A, FMEA, and IPC requirements.
- Ability to write technical reports for the site.
- Proficiency across multiple disciplines or technologies and familiarity with business processes and best practices.
- Advanced electronics skills related to computer hardware.
- Advanced design and architecture experience.
- In-circuit and functional test experience.
- Experience architecting test fixtures.
- Experience managing NPI processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic statistics and Design of Experiments is a plus.
- BOM management experience is preferred.
- Experience in automated manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to present information to managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Education and Experience
- Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in an appropriate field.
- 8–10 years of work-related experience in the EMS or equivalent industry.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, or experience may be considered.
Site and Safety Expectations
- The role supports manufacturing processes, equipment moves, site audits, and customer visits.
- The role requires adherence to applicable safety, health, and company security procedures.
