Procurement Officer - Saudi National

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for ingredients, packaging, and production consumables.
• Source products and suppliers within agreed quality, pricing, and budget requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels with suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
• Manage supplier issues and escalations involving quality, delays, or availability.
• Track procurement spend against the annual facility budget and flag variances early.
• Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities without compromising quality or food safety.
• Coordinate with inventory and receiving teams on stock levels and incoming deliveries.
• Communicate changes to ingredients, packaging, or suppliers to kitchen and production teams.
• Maintain backup suppliers for critical ingredients and packaging.
• Develop procurement plans that reduce supply-chain risks and prevent production disruptions.

Supplier Governance and Reporting

• Lead supplier contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing reviews as the facility and order volumes grow.
• Work with the Quality team on supplier audits, quality agreements, and supplier compliance.
• Ensure suppliers meet required food-safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier information, contracts, and pricing documentation.
• Report procurement spend, savings, supplier performance, and budget utilization to management.

Required Qualifications

• Five to six years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management.
• Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve performance issues.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills focused on cost optimization.
• Ability to manage procurement budgets, track spend, and report variances and savings.
• Strong understanding of supplier quality, food-safety, and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing backup or alternative supplier options for critical products.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in food production, bakery, FMCG, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.
• Understanding of ingredients, packaging, and consumables used in food production is preferred.
