Hiring for a client in food trading business based in Dubai!

Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end procurement, logistics, import/export operations, warehouse management, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain operations.

The role includes strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, inventory optimization, freight management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and operational requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure cost savings and value optimization.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and price comparisons, preparing cost comparison reports for finance and management review.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and procurement risks to ensure business continuity.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality, service levels, and compliance standards.
  • Manage procurement budgets and monitor spending against targets. Import, Export & Logistics Management
  • Manage the complete import and export process, ensuring smooth shipment execution and compliance with customs regulations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to customs procedures, trade compliance, and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate Entry/Exit Certificates for export transactions and collaborate with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for customs duty refund claims.
  • Send RFQs to freight forwarders, evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing, and finalize logistics contracts efficiently.
  • Collaborate with shipping companies, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers to streamline transportation processes.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, ETD (Estimated Time of Departure), and ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), while maintaining regular updates with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate vessel arrival details with the finance department for payment processing.
  • Follow up and resolve issues related to international transportation and shipment delays.
  • Evaluate the performance of freight forwarders, customs clearance agents, and logistics service providers.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, ensuring inventory accuracy and efficient stock movement.
  • Implement and monitor warehouse KPIs to improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Supervise inbound and outbound logistics, shipment scheduling, and transportation route optimization for cost efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory control measures, including stock rotation, cycle counting, and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Develop inventory optimization initiatives, including Just-In-Time (JIT) practices to reduce holding costs and prevent overstocking.
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards, inventory handling procedures, and storage regulations.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Manage vendor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, logistics, and other internal departments for procurement planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in procurement, logistics, import/export, and supply chain management.
  • Strong experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and logistics coordination.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, shipping documentation, and FTA procedures.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and ERP systems preferred.
