Procurement Engineer

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plans using project requirements, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Source suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials and specialist packages.
• Issue RFQs, obtain quotations, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
• Prepare quotation comparisons and recommendations based on price, quality, specifications, lead time, and commercial terms.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Process purchase orders in compliance with approved procedures.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Commercial, Planning, Logistics, and Site teams.
• Monitor approvals, manufacturing, dispatch, and delivery, particularly for long-lead items.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation, and tracking reports.
• Resolve supplier delays, shortages, quality concerns, and non-conforming deliveries.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or specifications.
• Report procurement status and potential risks or delays to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant procurement experience in the UAE construction industry.
• UAE or GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, BOQs, drawings, and procurement processes.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order management.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 9,000 to AED 12,000 per month.

Workplace

• The work location is in person.
