The Role
Cundall is hiring a Principal Structural Engineer for its Dubai office.
The role covers structural design projects in the UAE and wider region.
Projects span education, commercial, healthcare, retail, and critical systems sectors.
Core Work
- Prepare detailed structural calculations using appropriate software.
- Develop structural solutions in steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.
- Collaborate with engineers, CAD technicians, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Prepare design reports and presentations.
- Monitor and review the work of engineers and technicians.
- Work toward increased responsibility, autonomy, and chartership.
Qualifications
- BEng degree or equivalent is required.
- Candidates must be chartered or actively working toward MIStructE chartership.
- Eight to twelve years of postgraduate experience in a similar consultancy role is required.
- Proficiency with ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Robot, Prokon, and IDEA StatiCa is required.
- Knowledge of UAE, KSA, and international building codes is required.
- Knowledge of parametric design programmes is advantageous.
Professional Skills
- Experience preparing structural calculations, design reports, and presentations is required.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Experience using initiative to overcome challenges is essential.
