Role Overview
Zscaler is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer for its ZPA department.
The role is hybrid and reports to the Senior Director of Software Engineering.
The engineer will lead production-scale Generative AI platforms and intelligent agent systems.
Role Expectations
- Lead architecture, deployment, and evolution of large-scale Generative AI platforms and intelligent agent systems.
- Design scalable, secure, observable, and production-ready AI systems.
- Build and maintain MCP servers for secure interactions among LLMs, agents, enterprise tools, APIs, databases, and local resources.
- Deploy containerized Generative AI workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, model quantization, and KV-cache optimization.
- Define engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices for enterprise AI systems.
- Partner across multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable AI capabilities at scale.
Minimum Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in distributed systems, platform engineering, or ML infrastructure.
