Position Overview
The Principal Oracle DBA Consultant provides technical expertise and guidance for managing and optimizing clients' Oracle databases.
The consultant works with clients to understand business needs and create customized database solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, optimize, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade Oracle databases for clients.
- Design, implement, and maintain database structures and schemas.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.
- Provide training and support to junior DBAs and team members.
- Collaborate on database integration, documentation, and project planning.
- Stay updated on Oracle database technologies and trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Knowledge of Oracle 12c and 19c, Oracle Enterprise Manager, RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL tuning using AWR, ASH, and ADDM.
- Experience with monitoring tools, database migration, security settings, Exadata, and OCI EXACS or DBaaS.
- Knowledge of Database Vault, Audit Vault, database firewalls, encryption wallets, and GoldenGate.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Availability for off-hours support and on-call work.
