An opportunity has arisen within Waterman Building Services London, for the position of Principal Mechanical Engineer. Working as a key member of the team, you will be provided with the autonomy to design Mechanical services in many sectors of the industry and be client facing, representing the Company. As principal engineer in our building services team, your responsibilities will include: * Leading multidisciplinary projects from start to completion. * Manages interaction with clients/ design team members. * Overseeing technical delivery and ensuring projects meet quality, compliance, and performance standards. * Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers. * Driving innovation and best practices across the mechanical/electrical discipline. * Contributes to recruitment, retention, and development of top engineering talent. * Representing Waterman at industry events, builds and maintains relationships with industry colleagues. What we’re looking for: * Significant experience in mechanical building services design across regulated sectors. * Proven ability to influence engineering outcomes and lead design teams. * Strong proficiency with MagiCAD, Relux, Amtech/ EOM, AutoCAD and Revit. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients and stakeholders at all levels. * Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. * Chartered status or working towards it. * A proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering technically excellent, sustainable designs.
