Role overview
VVB Engineering is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to act as Contractors Engineering Manager for the Old Oak Common project.
The role covers the full Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire Detection and Suppression, and Communications scope.
The role requires delivery of Network Rail engineering management duties under NR/L2/INI/02009.
Core responsibilities
- Assess, manage, mentor and develop CREs across applicable Network Rail standards and engineering management requirements.
- Lead engineering solutions, design reviews, design checking, calculations, reports, sketches and design assurance.
- Provide technical guidance, chair risk workshops and resolve project, construction, installation and constructability issues.
- Manage design registers, formal communications, BIM and CAD coordination, subcontractors, quality systems and engineering requirements.
- Coordinate with commercial and planning teams to manage design change, forecasts, installation and testing programmes.
- Manage the multidisciplinary CRE team, including design management, time allocation, training and mentoring.
Essential experience
- Experience in construction, including design and installation of electrical or mechanical building-services systems or rail-sector projects.
