Responsibilities
- Leading the detailed structural design of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure related buildings/structures.
- Providing hands on supervision for the production of design drawings, calculation reports, and technical specifications.
- Ensuring quality assurance of structural design deliverables prior to formal client submissions.
- Actively coordinating with other technical disciplines to produce well coordinated designs.
- Tracking the progress of assigned design tasks and reporting status to the Design Manager and Project Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering
- 10 years of related work experience with demonstrable hands on experience in the structural design of bridges and related structures
- Strong proficiency with structural and bridge design software including Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Autodesk), IDEA StatiCa, AutoCAD, Bentley RAM
- In depth knowledge of relevant design codes and standards including Eurocode, British Standards, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Business level English language skills sufficient to produce well structured technical reports
- UPDA (MME) registration in Qatar, or eligibility and ability to obtain registration within 6 months of onboarding

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for a Principal Bridges / Structure Design Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar.
- Lead the design and review of a wide range of structures including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure related buildings and structures.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the detailed structural design of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure related buildings/structures.
- Providing hands on supervision for the production of design drawings, calculation reports, and technical specifications.
- Ensuring quality assurance of structural design deliverables prior to formal client submissions.
- Actively coordinating with other technical disciplines to produce well coordinated designs that satisfy functionality, serviceability, and constructability requirements and provide clash free configurations.
- Tracking the progress of assigned design tasks and reporting status to the Design Manager and Project Managers, resolving any issues that may arise during design development.
- Supporting other engineering activities as required by the Lead Engineer or Design Manager.
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Working in a self motivated manner and requiring minimal supervision on assigned tasks.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering.
- 10 years of related work experience, with demonstrable hands on experience in the structural design of bridges and related structures.
- Strong proficiency with structural and bridge design software, including Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Autodesk), IDEA StatiCa, AutoCAD, Bentley RAM (connections/elements).
- In depth knowledge of relevant design codes and standards, including Client related structural design guidelines and Interim Advice Notes, Eurocode, British Standards, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Business level English language skills sufficient to produce well structured technical reports with minimal need for grammatical corrections and to communicate clearly in verbal discussions.
- UPDA (MME) registration in Qatar, or eligibility and ability to obtain registration within 6 months of onboarding.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
- Possession of internationally recognized engineering licenses such as PE, SE, CEng, or PEng is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Revit or other BIM tools for structural coordination.
- Native level English speaking and writing skills.
