Role Overview

Fasken is seeking a Pricing Manager for its firmwide Pricing Department.

The role supports revenue and profitability through pricing strategies, proposals, financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, competitive research, project management, and metrics.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct supervision of others and reports to the Senior Director of Pricing.

Work Environment

  • The role may be located in any Canadian city where Fasken has an office.
  • The position is primarily remote, with occasional hybrid office collaboration, onsite support, and travel as business needs require.
  • Standard core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required to support different regional time zones.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop client-focused, profitable pricing models and contribute to the firm's overall pricing strategy.
  • Analyze cost drivers by matter type and build statistical models to predict matter costs.
  • Define matter packages and establish, maintain, and update regional fixed prices.
  • Manage fixed-price setting, pricing audits, profitability audits, and discount-rate analysis.
  • Support partners and marketing with pricing arrangements and price-and-value content for RFP responses.
  • Model fee-arrangement contribution impacts and perform sensitivity analyses.
  • Recommend pricing, staffing, and fee changes using advanced client-portfolio analytics.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • An MBA focused on finance, business, or mathematics is required, subject to consideration of equivalent education and professional expertise.
  • At least seven years of analytical experience is required, preferably in a professional services organization.
  • Knowledge of legal or professional services alternative fee arrangements and service costing is required.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling, including the ability to apply these methods, is required.
  • Strong financial modeling, advanced Excel, and complex spreadsheet skills are required.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, PowerPoint presentations for senior executives, SAP Business Objects, and Elite is required.

  • Bilingual English and French capability is a strong asset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The typical salary range is CAD 115,000 to CAD 125,000 annually, with base pay varying by location, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
