Job Summary

Fasken is seeking a Pricing Manager for its firmwide Pricing Department.

The role supports revenue and profitability through pricing strategies and proposals, financial analysis and modeling, budgeting, competitive research, project management, and metrics.

This is an individual-contributor role with no direct supervision of others.

Work Environment

  • The role may be based in any Canadian city where Fasken has an office, including Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Tsuut’ina Nations, Vancouver, or Surrey.
  • The position is primarily remote, with occasional hybrid office collaboration, support, and travel as business needs require.
  • Standard core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required across regional time zones.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the firm's overall pricing strategy and implement profitable, client-focused pricing models.
  • Analyze matter-type cost drivers and build statistical models to predict costs.
  • Define matter packages and fixed prices with the Director of Pricing and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and update regional fixed prices using matter-hours data and pricing and profitability audits.
  • Manage fixed-price setting and establish discount rates through competitive analysis.
  • Support partners and marketing with pricing arrangements and RFP responses.
  • Model fee-arrangement contribution impacts and perform sensitivity analyses.
  • Recommend pricing, staffing, and fee changes using advanced client-portfolio analytics.
  • Identify profit-growth, portfolio-expansion, issue, and risk opportunities.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • MBA focused on finance, business, or mathematics is required; equivalent education and professional expertise may be considered.
  • At least seven years of analytical-role experience, preferably in professional services.
  • English and French bilingualism is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of legal or professional services alternative fee arrangements and service costing.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling, with ability to apply the methods.
  • Strong financial modeling, Excel, complex spreadsheet, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, PowerPoint, SAP Business Objects, and Elite.

Compensation

  • Typical annual salary range is CAD 115,000 to CAD 125,000, varying by location, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
