Role Overview
The Freight Forwarding Pricing Manager develops, implements, and manages pricing strategies for freight forwarding services.
The role covers sea freight, air freight, road transportation, and other freight-forwarding vendors to support cost-effective and timely transportation.
Pricing and Market Management
- Develop and adjust pricing strategies based on market conditions, cost fluctuations, and competitor activities.
- Conduct market research into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive pricing.
- Monitor costs and develop cost models to support pricing decisions and profitability.
Negotiation and Sales Support
- Negotiate rates with carriers, suppliers, and partners and maintain relationships to secure favorable terms.
- Collaborate with sales to provide pricing guidance and prepare customer proposals and quotations.
Performance and Compliance
- Track pricing strategy performance and prepare reports on pricing activities, trends, and performance metrics.
- Ensure pricing activities comply with regulations and company policies and maintain accurate pricing records, agreements, and contracts.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of pricing analysts or specialists.
- Provide training and development opportunities to improve team capabilities.
Candidate Requirements
- At least five years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field with a focus on pricing.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding operations and market dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
