About the Role

Responsibilities
- Receive and review incoming artwork files (PDF, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and native formats)
- Verify job specifications including substrate, press type, ink set, coatings, finishes, dielines, and deadlines
- Conduct detailed file inspections for printability (dimensions, fonts, resolution, color modes, bleed, and margins)
- Perform automated and manual preflight checks and generate preflight reports
- Convert files into standardized print formats (PDF/X 1a, PDF/X 4)
- Apply and manage ICC color profiles for different substrates and press conditions
- Manage Pantone and special colors, prepare separations for varnishes, UV coatings, metallic inks, and white layers
- Ensure correct trapping, overprinting, and knockout settings
- Create impositions for offset, digital, and flexographic printing
- Produce digital, color, and press ready proofs and verify content accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in a prepress role (commercial print or packaging environment)
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with preflight tools and RIP workflows
- Solid understanding of printing processes: offset, digital, and flexo
- Expertise in color management and ICC profiling
- High attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet tight deadlines

Job Overview
- We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Prepress Operator to join our Commercial & Packaging division.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing digital artwork for offset, digital, and flexographic printing, ensuring accuracy, color consistency, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review incoming artwork files (PDF, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and native formats)
- Verify job specifications including substrate, press type, ink set, coatings, finishes, dielines, and deadlines
- Conduct detailed file inspections for printability (dimensions, fonts, resolution, color modes, bleed, and margins)
- Perform automated and manual preflight checks
- Generate preflight reports and communicate required corrections to designers or clients
- Convert files into standardized print formats (PDF/X 1a, PDF/X 4)
- Resolve transparency and technical file issues
- Apply and manage ICC color profiles for different substrates and press conditions
- Convert color spaces (RGB to CMYK, spot color handling)
- Maintain consistent color reproduction across devices
- Manage Pantone and special colors
- Prepare separations for varnishes, UV coatings, metallic inks, and white layers (packaging)
Requirements
