Job Summary

  • TYLin is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial City Solutions Practice Manager to lead and grow our Los Angeles transportation planning and advisory practice.
  • As part of TYLin's Advisory & Planning business, the City Solutions practice delivers multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and mobility innovation while partnering across the firm's Transportation, Water, and Buildings sectors.
  • The Practice Manager will drive business growth, strengthen client relationships, oversee project delivery, and lead a high performing team.

Business Development & Client Leadership

  • Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to achieve annual sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
  • Lead pursuits, including teaming, proposals, interviews, pricing strategies, and go/no go decisions.
  • Partner with Practice, Sector, and Area Leaders to grow TYLin's presence in the Southern California market.

Project Delivery

  • Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on strategic projects.
  • Ensure high quality project delivery, client satisfaction, and effective resource planning.
  • Promote quality assurance and technical excellence across the practice.

Operations & Team Leadership

  • Manage regional financial performance, including revenue, utilization, profitability, and forecasting.
  • Oversee business planning and operating budgets.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while fostering a collaborative, high performing culture.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional registration preferred.
  • Approximately 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in consulting or the public sector, including leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills.
  • Established relationships within the Southern California transportation market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Additional Information

  • Base compensation range of $216,000 – $260,000 annually for this position and local market.
