Responsibilities
- Develop methods and optimise formulations for extruder based food products (for both human and animal consumption)
- Optimise novel extraction methods for the recovery of bioactives from regionally important food waste
- Develop and improve formulations for novel, functional edible films and coatings
- Provide significant input in experimental design
- Disseminate results through high quality research publications
- Supervise 2/3 PhD students employed through the grant
Requirements
- PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field from a reputable University
- Experience in new product development, recovery of bioactive compounds from food waste, edible films, extrusion technology and functional foods
- Evidence of experience and impact of previous research (e.g., publication metrics)
- Excellent manuscript and project writing skills
- Previous post doctoral and/or academic experience is an asset
- Experience in working in a multi cultural setting is desirable
