- Ability to teach undergraduate courses
- Active researcher with a strong publication record in peer reviewed international journals
- Demonstrated experience in teaching consecutive and simultaneous interpreting
- Native or near native proficiency in both Arabic and English
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Job Description
- The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Interpreting (Arabic/English and vice versa).
- Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising, demonstrable research capability, and active engagement in promoting the growth of the UAE University.
Key Responsibilities
- Active researcher with a strong publication record in reputable, peer reviewed international journals within their area of expertise.
- Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in interpreting (Arabic/English and vice versa).
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
- Select and prepare appropriate teaching and learning resources.
- Plan and deliver well organized, effective instructional sessions.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to students’ interests, diverse cultural backgrounds, and learning needs.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
Minimum Qualification
- Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field.
- The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must.
Preferred Qualification
- A PhD degree in Translation, Interpreting, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
- Active Researcher.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.
- Native or near native proficiency in both Arabic and English.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Professional experience as an interpreter is an advantage.
