The Role

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist Project Engineer to lead and coordinate engineering teams for high-profile energy-sector projects.

The role is responsible for project delivery, technical scope, quality, cost, schedule, risk, stakeholder coordination, and client technical liaison activities.

Clients and Projects

Wood delivers large and complex projects for national and international energy companies across upstream, midstream, onshore, offshore, gas-to-liquids, decarbonization, and electrification markets.

The organization supports energy security and transition projects and provides consulting, engineering, and operations services.

Project Deliverables

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs and deliverables across execution and high-value engineering centers.
  • Prepare design instructions, manpower plans, contract requisition scopes, work plans, interface milestones, forecasts, and work-share plans.
  • Interface with discipline managers and communicate project execution principles and contractual requirements.

Quality, HSES, and Assurance

  • Check project quality-system compliance, support project audits, and drive quality performance.
  • Plan and implement HSES reviews and support project-specific procedures.
  • Assure the quality of engineering deliverables before issue to the customer.

Schedule and Change Management

  • Develop and manage schedules, resolve escalated delays and changes, and implement recovery plans.
  • Lead design verification, assess risks and mitigations, and use contract conditions to support schedule and change decisions.
  • Quantify project-wide change effects, develop mitigation plans, and drive change management.

People and Stakeholder Management

  • Supervise technical professionals and coordinate inputs from interdisciplinary teams typically comprising more than 50 people.
  • Communicate with project teams, lead participation, manage technical matters and third-party interfaces, and build effective teams.
  • Understand customer needs and support customer satisfaction initiatives.

Expected Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Typically 15 years of experience in a project delivery environment.
  • Experience in mega EPC or EPCm projects is required.
  • ADNOC Projects or PMC experience is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of technical scopes, commercial project aspects, specifications, standards, engineering procedures, and change management.
  • Ability to lead Project Engineering teams and manage discipline interfaces and third-party technical matters.
