Organisation and Opportunity
The organisation provides enterprise technology and cloud infrastructure services, including next-generation cloud platforms and automated data services.
The role leads technical implementation and evolution of a large customer-facing cloud platform.
Cloud Platform Services
- Design, engineer, and implement Kubernetes as a Service for global enterprise customers.
- Design, engineer, and implement Managed Data Platform services at large scale.
Managed Database and Streaming Services
- Architect managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, and Redis services using production-grade operators.
- Examples include Cloud Native PG, Crunchy Data, Zalando, Percona, and Strimzi.
Reliability and Operations
- Own day-to-day reliability, backup architectures using pgBackRest and Sentinel, disaster recovery, scaling, and connection pooling.
- Implement operational practices suitable for large-scale customer-facing services.
Multi-Tenant Operational Security
- Implement mutual TLS, automated credential rotation, IAM integration, secure parameter baselines, and image vulnerability management.
- Support secure operations across multi-tenant cloud platforms.
Requirements
- Experience engineering and evolving large-scale, customer-facing cloud platforms.
- Experience implementing Kubernetes as a Service and managed data platform services.
- Ability to architect managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, and Redis services using production-grade operators.
- Ability to own reliability, backup architecture, disaster recovery, scaling, and connection-pooling protocols.
- Experience implementing multi-tenant operational security controls.
- Ability to integrate IAM, secure parameter baselines, credential rotation, and image vulnerability management.
