Reporting to the Head of Unit - Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, this role is integral to in the management of patients, is involved in teaching programs relevant to the discipline, and will support audits, clinical practice improvement programs, and programs of innovation including research.
Duties for the role will include:
Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients.
Coordinating the follow up care of patients.
Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students.
Contributing to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Department Director.
Being responsive to the expectations and needs of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
Ensuring that patients and families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow up.
Providing appropriate direction and supervision to registrars, resident medical officers and interns.
Participating in programs designed to provide personal growth and development.
Attending and participating in clinical and departmental meetings.
Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an experienced Plastic Surgery Consultant to join this committed clinical team.

Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualification (FRACS) and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon).
Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Demonstrated professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff
Supervisory skills in regard to staff and to act as a role model for medical students and junior medical staff
Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
