Plant Manager - Lead factory

Overview

• Manage daily production, including feedstock intake (lead-acid batteries), material handling, smelting, refining, and alloy casting, ensuring maximum uptime and throughput.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase lead recovery rates and optimize energy usage in smelting and refining operations.
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
• Hire, train, and supervise plant operators, shift supervisors, and maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Oversee the maintenance of specialized equipment like shredders, furnaces, and casting machines to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Ensure the final refined lead and alloy ingots meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Manage the operational budget, including raw material inventory (scrap lead), labour, and repair expenses.
• Good knowledge in Spectrometer (Spectro analytical instruments) and XRF.
• Calculation of charge materials to produce the lead alloy ingots depending upon the customer requirements.
• Inspection of incoming raw materials quality and check the chemical analysis of individual materials.
• Closely work with the procurement department to identify broken stock contingency plan.
