  • You will be working in the Infrastructure OU alongside our A47 Highways team in where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
  • In partnership with National Highways, we’re shaping the future of travel at the A47 Thickthorn junction. Two new free‑flowing slip roads will ease congestion and improve connections between the A47.
  • We are currently looking for a Planning Engineer who will work with the project planning team to develop, maintain and update the project programme.
  • As the Planning Engineer, you will:
  • Assist in maintaining and updating main project programme, applying the correct coding so that the programme suits the project and Skanska’s needs.
  • Apply planned and actual resources to the programme.
  • Programmes are clearly communicated to all users in a way that suits them and that highlights the constraints and resources that they have to work with.
  • Provide the link between the planning and delivery teams initiating the short-term programme and assisting the delivery team with its development, providing a challenge about quality and results where necessary. Leads the 4-weekly collaborative planning sessions.
  • We are looking for:
  • Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.
  • Experience of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring working for a construction contractor.
  • Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
