Planning Engineer

Job Summary

Location and Availability

• The description lists Umm Al Quwain, UAE as the job location.

Key Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings, engineering drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials and Material Take-Offs.
• Coordinate activities with production, fabrication, procurement, site, and management teams.
• Monitor project progress, materials, manpower, and resources.
• Prepare reports, schedules, records, and documentation using Microsoft Excel.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate solutions.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
• Support material planning, quantity estimation, procurement coordination, and cost monitoring.
• Review technical documents for discrepancies and coordinate revisions.
• Follow up on requirements, material availability, and site or production activities.
• Maintain documentation and provide progress updates to management.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• At least 8+ years of relevant UAE experience in project engineering or a related engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of shop drawings, BOM, MTO, material estimation, and project documentation.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong project coordination, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and project stakeholders.
• English and Hindi are required.

Preferred Skills

• AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
• Preferred candidates have strong UAE experience in engineering project coordination, shop drawings, BOM/MTO preparation, material planning, Excel, and technical documentation.
