Position Description
- Provides direct patient care, conducts patient assessment and re assessment, establishes goals and care plans for physiotherapy services.
- Promotes patient's physical wellness and treatments to enable and restore function and prevent physical disability.
- Collaborates with multi disciplinary teams to discuss patient's goals and plan of care.
Position Responsibility Quality and Accuracy
- Understands hospital mission and vision, follows correct patient care processes and clinical standards.
- Performs initial and comprehensive patient care assessments following APTA standards.
- Applies appropriate physiotherapy modalities based on patient care plan.
- Selects and executes appropriate measurement procedures and tools.
- Provides patient, relative, and staff education.
- Reports patient care incidents and participates in quality improvement.
Quantity and Organizational Skills
- Provides physiotherapy services equivalent to 26 sessions/CPT codes per session limited to 15 minutes.
- Modalities include: Cryotherapy/Heat Therapy, Manual Therapy, Massage Therapy, TENS, Therapeutic Exercises, Ultrasound, Interferential Therapy, Mechanical Traction, Electrical Current, Gait Training, Lymphatic Edema Therapy.
- Participates in staff meetings and unit projects.
- Ensures compliance with safety requirements of medical equipment.
- Maintains availability of physiotherapy equipment and performs inventory.
Position Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy.
- Current license of practice in country of origin or point of hire and/or DHA license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience post certification as a Junior Physiotherapist/Physical Therapist.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
