Role Overview
The Pharmacy Purchaser will manage procurement of medicines, pharmaceutical products, medical consumables, and other healthcare supplies.
The role requires strong experience and supplier relationships in the Abu Dhabi pharmaceutical purchasing market.
Procurement Responsibilities
- Purchase medicines, over-the-counter products, medical consumables, and healthcare products from approved suppliers.
- Manage Abu Dhabi-based pharmaceutical distributors and supplier relationships.
- Negotiate prices, discounts, payment terms, and supply agreements.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
Inventory and Records
- Monitor stock levels, consumption, and fast- or slow-moving products to prevent shortages and overstocking.
- Monitor expiry dates and minimise near-expiry and dead stock.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, supplier, and inventory records in ERP or pharmacy systems.
Coordination and Compliance
- Coordinate with pharmacists, pharmacy stores, warehouse, and finance teams.
