Payable Responsibilities
- Work closely with the recruiting team to ensure team members are set up in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain team member profiles within UKG
- Support and guide villages with self service, schedule or pay inquiries
- Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing including off cycles where required
- Work closely with Benefit Coordinator to maintain benefit deductions, taxable amounts and proration formulas as required by collective agreements
- Calculation of various payments such as top up and termination
- Preparation and file uploads to Service Canada for Record of Employments
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of source deductions
- Creation of Journal Entries related to payroll processing
- Assist with monthly remittance for Union Dues, Pension & RRSP
- Support external stake holders such as Service Canada with payroll inquiries ensuring to uphold the highest level of customer service
- Assist with other projects or initiatives as needed
Experience and Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in medium volume unionized payroll environment
- Highly organized and detailed oriented with ability to problem solve
- Self-directed and motivated, as well as a team player
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of tasks and duties in an efficient manner in a deadline-oriented environment
- Able to adjust to rapidly changing situations
- High degree of sensitivity, good judgement, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience with UKG an asset
- Proficient in Excel
- Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Canadian Payroll Association an asset
