Responsibilities
- Greet patients and direct them to appropriate departments
- Handle telephone inquiries and provide information to doctors/nurses for call backs
- Manage appointments including no shows, rescheduling, and confirmations
- Register new patients and update current patient records
- Provide information about medical insurance coverage and collect payments/co payments
- Facilitate daily cash collection, credit card slips, and cheque deposits
- Maintain working knowledge of Hospital Information System, clinic times, and doctor duty rosters
- Perform duties as per duty roster including handling patients, calls, cash, and back office work
- Check emails daily and respond to queries timely
- Ensure operations follow hospital policies and procedures
- Generate and process patient invoices for services rendered
- Collect co pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at time of service
Requirements
- Experience in patient administration or healthcare front desk
- Knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes
- Proficiency in hospital information systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions
