Role Overview
Designs, plans, and manages physical outside-plant telecom infrastructure outside the data center or main facility.
Supports physical connectivity, civil works compliance, and network expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design civil routes for underground and aerial fiber cable deployment, including trenching, duct allocation, and chamber placement.
- Manage field contractors during horizontal directional drilling, excavation, cable blowing, and civil construction.
- Coordinate right-of-way and excavation permits with municipalities, utility companies, and road authorities.
- Maintain GIS layers, as-built drawings, and AutoCAD schematics for outside-plant assets.
- Inspect civil and fiber installations in the field for compliance with telecom standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience with outside-plant telecom infrastructure and physical network deployment.
- Experience level listed in the source is 1-6 years.
- Ability to use GIS and AutoCAD for asset mapping and as-built documentation.
- Knowledge of civil works, fiber installation, telecom standards, and safety compliance.
