Role overview

BISR is seeking a part-time English Teacher for Senior School at the Al Hamra campus.

Teaching and pastoral responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality English learning experiences and support students in becoming lifelong learners.
  • Use assessment and feedback strategies to ensure students make good progress.
  • Create a positive climate for learning and support students’ holistic development and well-being.
  • Serve as a Form Tutor and first point of contact in the pastoral care system.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme and community events.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and teams across the school.

Candidate requirements

  • A UK or UK-recognised teaching qualification is required.
  • Valid KSA residency status is required.
  • Applicants should have excellent classroom practice and pastoral care experience.
  • Applicants should demonstrate commitment to reflective practice, student well-being, and high-quality learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and collaborative ability are required.
  • Applicants should be willing to contribute to co-curricular activities and the wider school community.

Teacher qualifications and experience

  • Qualified Teacher status and a Certificate of Education such as PGCE or B.Ed are listed in the teacher profile.
  • Experience across UK or international contexts and within a key stage or subject is desirable.
  • Experience with behaviour management, diverse learning needs, curriculum development, monitoring, and assessment is desirable.

Teacher skills

  • Knowledge of the English National Curriculum and Assessment for Learning strategies is valued.
  • The role requires communication, organisation, time management, collaboration, and ICT skills.
  • Teachers should be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
