- Assess and underwrite Property & Casualty risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and authority limits
- Evaluate insurance applications by analyzing risk exposures, coverage requirements, and policy terms
- Determine appropriate pricing, conditions, and terms to maintain profitability and competitiveness
- Handle moderately complex underwriting cases, referring higher authority cases to the Team Leader or Senior Underwriters
- Ensure timely processing of quotations, renewals, and endorsements, adhering to SLAs and service standards
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with regulatory requirements and company compliance standards
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for all underwriting assessments and approvals
- Participate in internal audits and quality checks to support risk control measures
- Work closely with brokers, agents, and distribution channels to understand client needs and develop customized solutions
- Support the team in identifying new business opportunities while maintaining a balanced portfolio
- Monitor market trends, pricing developments, and competitor activities to enhance underwriting strategies
- Assist in preparing competitive quotes and proposals to attract and retain profitable business
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Insurance Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically within the Underwriting (UW) department
- Pursuing a formal underwriting certification (e.g., Cert CII, or equivalent) is desired

Role Overview
