- Assess patient health, lab results, and medical history
- Develop customized medical nutrition therapy plans
- Provide individual and group weight management counseling
- Conduct pre and post surgery evaluations for bariatric candidates
- Track patient progress and adjust diet plans as needed
- Teach behavior modification techniques for sustainable eating
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian credential with prior experience specializing in outpatient metabolic and bariatric surgery, or willing to learn
- Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by ACEND (or Bachelor's if eligible before 1/1/24)
- Meets eligibility requirements for RD/RDN by CDR and will become registered within 120 days of hire
- Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
- Minimum Functional Experience 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills, be a self starter, and a team player
- The ability to work well with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff

Job Overview

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by ACEND
- Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
- Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
- Minimum Functional Experience 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
