About the Role
Socium is seeking an experienced Oracle WebLogic Database Administrator for a 12-month contract in Abu Dhabi. The role involves database administration (Oracle 12c/18c/19c, RAC, Data Guard), WebLogic administration, security compliance, and automation.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Databases (12c/18c/19c) and Oracle EBS environments
- Apply patches to Oracle RAC and Oracle EBS (R12.x) environments
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization
- Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard
- Monitor database health using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools
- Manage Oracle E Business Suite (R12.x) including patching, cloning, and concurrent manager tuning
- Configure and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments; monitor and tune JVM performance
- Clone, patch, and upgrade Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and above; manage BIP server 11g and above
- Implement database security policies, access controls, and encryption protocols; ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL and shell scripts for automation and monitoring
- Work closely with developers, system admins, and business analysts; mentor junior DBAs
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or related field
- 8 10 years of experience in Oracle DBA role with strong exposure to Oracle Applications and WebLogic
- Hands on expertise in installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle Databases (12c/18c/19c) and Oracle EBS environments
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server administration (10.3.6 and above)
- Proficiency in PL/SQL and shell scripting for automation and monitoring
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Candidate must have freelance/golden visa or willing to self sponsor

Key Responsibilities
- Database Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Databases (12c/18c/19c) and Oracle EBS environments; apply patches to Oracle RAC and Oracle EBS (R12.x); perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization; implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and
- Application Support: Manage Oracle E Business Suite (R12.x) including patching, cloning, and concurrent manager tuning; support deployments, upgrades, and integrations; troubleshoot issues across database, application, and web tiers.
- WebLogic Administration: Configure and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments; monitor and tune JVM performance and thread management; clone, patch, and upgrade Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and above; manage, install, configure, patch and upgrade BIP server 11g and above.
- Security Compliance: Implement database security policies, access controls, and encryption protocols; ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements; maintain audit trails and support regulatory reporting.
- Integration & Automation: Develop and maintain PL/SQL and shell scripts for automation and monitoring.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with developers, system admins, and business analysts; mentor junior DBAs and contribute to process improvement and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 8 10 years of experience in Oracle DBA role with strong exposure to Oracle Applications and WebLogic.
