Responsibilities
- Validation of Optical Coherent Pluggable firmware features and interoperability
- Working with scrum team, develop and execute test strategies for CMIS-compliant modules, conduct manual/auto testing for project use cases and investigate customer-related issues in the lab. Enhance existing Python scripts and design new test cases to meet project requirements.
- Automate testing processes on the PACE test platform using Python. Analyze test reports to allocate firmware bug responsibilities effectively.
- Provide reliable on-site support for the optical Firmware System Integration Test (SIT) Ottawa lab, including setup of test equipment and optical components, 3+days/week is required in our office/lab
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline testing workflows and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies relevant to optical firmware testing.
- Document test procedures and results for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge & Experience Good understanding of Optical Coherent technologies (400G/800G ZR/ZR+), and reasonable experience in Firmware Validation of Optical Coherent Modules (ZR/ZR+, DWDM, CMIS-based pluggables)
- Proficient in Python programming, knowledge of Python automation and test frameworks
- Knowledge on data center networking or telecom systems
- concept of traffic generators, optical test equipment, and log analysis
- Typically 1-2 years directly related experience and a graduate equivalent degree
